2009 PARKER STATE TUNE-UP RULES
High School Baseball and USSSA rules will be followed except as noted below:
Game Times
Games are 6 innings for 8 12, and 7 innings for 13 -14.
Time limits are 1:45 for pool play and 2:00 for elimination round games.
a) There is no time limit for championship games. Run rule stays in effect.
Umpires will keep the official game time.
Be prepared to play 20 minutes prior to the scheduled game time. We will start
games up to 20 minutes early when possible. Start times are up to the discretion
of the site director, not the coach.
Due to the number of games and limited field space, we cannot accommodate
schedule requests.
Home Team
The home team will be determined by a coin flip for pool play and the Championship Game, and higher seed for the elimination round.
Protests
There are no protests.
All rule questions will be handled on the field as they occur.
Scorekeeping
The Home team shall maintain the Official scorebook.
Both scorekeepers should compare scores after each inning.
The Home team scorekeeper will receive the Pitching Log from each Coach prior to the game and will document each teams pitchers on their Pitching Log. Both Coaches will sign both Pitching Logs after each game and then keep their own log.
The umpires will have the official game card.
a) At the end of each game both coaches must fill out the game card and sign.
b) The game card is the official score, so make sure scores and teams are correct before you sign.
Mercy Rule
8 12 Yr olds (6 inning game)
8 runs after 4 innings, 15 runs after 3 innings, 20 runs after 2 innings
13 14 Yr olds (7 inning game)
8 runs after 5 innings, 15 runs after 3 innings, 20 runs after 2 innings
Pitching Rules
It is the coach and parents responsibility to protect the pitchers health.
Balks 1 balk warning per team, per game for 9-12 year old. There are no balk warnings for 13 - 14 year olds.
Pitching Log
Each team will be given a Pitching Log sheet at check in.
Each team is responsible to have their up to date pitching sheet available at every game. No sheet at a game will result in forfeit.
At the beginning of each game, both teams should give their pitching sheet to the Home team official scorekeeper to keep up during the game.
At the end of each game the scorekeeper returns the Pitching Log to the coaches for verification. Both coaches verify and then sign both teams Pitching Log sheets and keep their own Pitching Log.
Pitching Log sheets are to filled out in pen.
Miscellaneous
No infield is allowed on the fields prior to games. Ground balls may be taken
outside the foul lines.
Forfeits are recorded as an 8 0 score.
